The JIOC-K’s efforts focus on detecting enemy threats, managing intelligence, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) activities, analyzing enemy actions and information to determine enemy’s probable courses of action.
The overall analytic effort strengthens Defense Intelligence and provides relevant, timely, objective, and cogent all source Defense Intelligence to the Commander and other users, and transforming theater intelligence activities to better leverage the capabilities of the theater and global intelligence communities and safeguard United States personnel and interests within the Korea Theater of Operations (KTO).
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, execute, and assess intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) collection and analysis.
- Coordinate intelligence requirements for DIA and USFK customers utilizing requirements management.
- Assist in the process of review, clarification, adjudication, acceptance, tasking, response, tracking and situational follow-up involved in requests for information (RFI).
- Serve as the requirements and dissemination.
- Attend and serve as collection requirements management SME on working groups and conferences.
- Conduct research and recommend improvements to current procedures and methods for collecting and analyzing data on current production efforts.
- Provides analysis and research for industry, infrastructure, technology, country, geographic area, biographic and targeted vulnerability.
- Prepares assessments of current events based on the sophisticated collection, research and analysis of classified and open source information.
- Develops and maintains analytical procedures to meet changing requirements and ensure maximum operations.
- Collects data using a combination of standard intelligence methods and business processes.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Able to surge support during 2 exercises per year.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters with 4-6 years of experience, or specialized training and 4-8 years of experience, or equivalent academic experience.
- Intelligence experience and/or operation support in Korea or other active theaters.
- Experience in building collection plans.
- Experience in supporting ISR/Production Missions, including receiving RFIs and reviewing for understanding, asking for clarification when needed, adjudicating requests for acceptance, prioritization, and resourcing, allocating and tasking resources to generate the response, tracking the response progress against the Latest Time Information of Value (LTIOV), disseminating the RFI product responses to the requestor, and following-up with the Customer to verify the requirement was sufficiently met.
- Capable of initiating spin-off RFI’s for Collection Management efforts to task an ISR system to get the required information, and process and prepare a product for dissemination.
- Experience with the bi-lateral (ROK-US) Korean environment.
- Familiar with the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) for Korea.
